Kenneth P. May, D.C.
Dr. Kenneth P. May, a Fauquier county native graduated from Shenandoah University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology focusing in Exercise Science while minoring in Biology and Psychology. Dr. May graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a Doctorate of Chiropractic, and was a Dr. Rose Galliger chiropractic scholarship recipient.
Dr. May is trained and certified in Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab or “FAKTR”. Dr. May holds certifications in Fascial Movement Taping and Performance Movement Taping techniques. Dr. May is trained and certified to perform dry needling as a therapy in the state of Virginia. He is “Healthcare Provider Heads Up” certified in the management of sports concussions, along with being Brainline Military MTBI & deployment related TBI & co-occurring conditions training certified. He is a Certified Sole Supports Orthotic Provider. Dr. May has extensive training in advanced imaging as he is one of a select few that have participated in a clinical rotation with the Stony Brook University Hospital Neuroimaging center while in a doctor of chiropractic program. Dr. May is trained in various therapeutic procedures such as; spinal manipulation, extremity manipulation, joint mobilization, flexion distraction, drop piece adjustments, manual traction, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, post isometric relaxation technique, muscle energy technique, pin and stretch, lymphatic drainage massage, various physiotherapy modalities and physical therapy rehabilitation protocols.
As a former collegiate athlete of Shenandoah University he played men’s lacrosse, and has a special interest in sports medicine. He has experience working with Olympic, professional, college, adult, high school, and youth athletes. He has worked with the New York Rangers NHL hockey team, and also worked with Bridgeport Bluefish professional baseball team.
